Understanding Insurance & Your Visit at Extraordinary Family Healthcare

Understanding Insurance & Your Visit | Extraordinary Family Healthcare

Extraordinary Family Healthcare, a disabled women veteran–owned clinic based in Snellville, GA, accepts most major commercial insurance plans —including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, and Medicare Part B—as well as many others.

🩺 What We Accept

We’re proud to be an in-network provider for a wide range of insurance carriers. Although we don’t advertise TRICARE or VA Community Care as primary options, we do offer VA Disability Exams and veterans’ healthcare services —so veterans are welcome.

💡 Insurance Coverage: The Fine Print

Even when your plan is accepted, keep in mind:

  • In-network status doesn’t guarantee full coverage.
  • You could still face copays, deductibles, co-insurance, or charges for non-covered services or medications.
  • These financial responsibilities are determined by your insurance plan, not the clinic.

⚠️ It’s on You to Know

We verify that your insurance is in-network—but we don’t verify your specific benefits or out-of-pocket costs before your visit. That means it’s up to you to:

  • Review your deductible status and coverage
  • Determine any copay, co-insurance, or other charges
  • Understand which services are covered

💳 Considering Paying Cash?

For patients with high deductibles or co-insurance, paying out-of-pocket can sometimes be a better value. ExoFamHealth offers reduced cash-pay rates for self-pay visits.

Note: Once a visit is billed to insurance, reduced cash rates cannot be applied retroactively.

💊 What Might Not Be Covered

Certain services commonly fall outside insurance coverage, including—but not limited to:

  • Weight-loss visits or medications
  • Hormone therapy
  • Off-label or elective treatments (e.g., some Medi-Spa procedures)

Some services may require prior authorization or may not be approved by your plan. Please check with your insurer before requesting these treatments.

🧾 How We Bill

Billing is based strictly on the actual services provided, as documented by clinicians— not what you came in hoping to receive or what insurance suggests.

We use standard medical codes to file claims. This ensures compliance and ethical billing practices.

🗣 Final Thoughts

Navigating your healthcare coverage can feel overwhelming. Here’s how we see the partnership:

You Are Responsible For… We Are Responsible For…
Knowing your insurance plan benefits, including coverage and your costs Providing high-quality care and accurate billing
Asking your insurer about coverage, network providers, cost-sharing Offering transparent pricing and options like self-pay rates

We’re happy to answer general questions, but for benefit-specific details—like whether a procedure or medication is covered—we encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly.

✅ Before Your Visit: Quick Checklist

  • Log in to your insurer’s portal or call the number on your card and confirm:
    • Is Extraordinary Family Healthcare in-network?
    • Have you met your deductible?
    • What are your copay or coinsurance amounts?
    • Is your specific service or medication covered?
  • Want flexibility? Ask questions about paying cash at the time of service.
  • Remember, once billed, cash rates are not reversible.
